Accountancy firm launches specialist holiday parks team
A leading regional accountancy firm has created a new specialist team to support East Anglia’s important holiday parks sector – offering a range of bespoke services aimed at supporting the region’s many such businesses to prosper and grow.
Lovewell Blake’s new Holiday Parks Team will draw on the firm’s existing expertise in the tourism, hospitality and agricultural sectors, as well as its recognised specialism in family businesses.
With over 200 holiday parks in the region, the sector is a vital part of the region’s tourism industry, which supports more jobs than any other sector.
The new team will be headed by partner and growth specialist James Banham and holiday parks specialist Kim Mann, supported by Andrew Miller and John Catchpole.
Services of particular relevance to the sector include capital finance planning, family business and succession advice, HR compliance, and tax and capital allowances, as well as a ‘Complete Business Support’ package designed to allow holiday park operators to concentrate on the product.
“Holiday parks are an important contributor to the East Anglia economy, and make up a large part of the accommodation base which is vital to the success of the wider tourism industry,” said Kim Mann.
“The continued success of the ‘staycation’ mean that there are significant opportunities for growth for holiday park businesses, but there are some specific challenges which it is important to tackle in order to maximise that growth.
“Many of these businesses have grown from a farming and agricultural base, and a great number are family businesses. By their nature, holiday parks are capital-intensive, so the right structures, the right financing and the right tax advice are absolutely vital.
“At Lovewell Blake, we have extensive experience in tourism, and hospitality, as well as a strong and well-regarded agricultural team; we are also recognised as being the region’s leading firm when it comes to family business matters. So it was an obvious step to bring all these things together to create the region’s first specialist holiday parks support team.”
