ANNUAL TENPIN BOWLING CHALLENGE RAISES OVER £5,000 FOR LOCAL CHARITY FUND
Over 80 participants from 14 local businesses helped a local firm raise over £5,000 for good causes by taking part in a charity tenpin bowling evening.
Organised by staff at the Halesworth office of accountants, business advisors and financial planners Lovewell Blake, the annual event saw Loddon company GS Computers carry off the trophy.
A raffle and auction on the night, with prizes donated by local businesses, helped boost the total raised, as did generous match-funding from Barclays Bank. The money raised will go into Lovewell Blake’s LB150 Fund, which every year gives grants to charities and community organisations across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Event organiser Matthew Waters, of Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office, said, “Our annual tenpin bowling event has become an opportunity to bring together local businesses to have fun, enjoy friendly competition, and raise funds for some of the region’s smaller charities and community projects.
“We are very grateful for the continued support from the teams taking part, the local business community for donating prizes, and the Lovewell Blake staff who organise the event.”
The evening was once again hosted by Rob Mayes-Smith and his staff at Richardson’s Family Bowl in Lowestoft, who also generously donated four novelty skittles which were auctioned off at the end of the evening.
The LB150 Fund was originally established to mark Lovewell Blake’s 150th anniversary in 2008, with an initial goal of raising £150,000. Since then the firm has raised around £230,000, giving out more than 100 grants to local good causes.
