BIDDERS FROM FAR AFIELD CONVERGE ON NORFOLK FOR FARM MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT SALE
Hundreds of bidders from as far afield as Spain, Poland and Holland converged on Felthorpe for the largest agricultural equipment sale in Norfolk for years when the entire inventory of Paul Gunther Contracting went under the hammer following the retirement after 52 years of agricultural contractor Paul Gunther.
The Auction reached a total of more than £1.5 million for the 500 lots, in what was described by auctioneer Simon Evans from Irelands as ‘spirited bidding’.

“This was a hugely successful sale, with over 600 bidders travelling to Norfolk from all corners of the UK, and from further afield,” said auctioneer Simon Evans from Irelands, who conducted the sale.
“There was spirited bidding, which was reflected in the prices achieved. The larger items exceeded our expectations, with more specialist items achieving prices broadly in line with what we expected.
Fellow auctioneer Tom Corfield commented, “The auction attracted a mix of farmers and trade buyers, and the sheer number of bidders reflects the importance of the sale, and the respect in which Paul Gunther is held in the farming community.”
