BUDDING NORFOLK FILMMAKERS GET CHANCE TO TAKE PART IN TWO DAY DIRECTING MASTERCLASS WITH LEADING BRITISH DIRECTOR

27th Jan 2020
Richard Bracewell

Budding filmmakers are being offered the chance to take part in an intensive two day Directing Masterclass run in Norwich by a leading British movie director.

Twelve participants will have the chance to learn about many different aspects of film directing during the masterclass, which will be led by Richard Bracewell, writer and director of The Gigolos, named by the Daily Telegraph as one of the most under-rated films of all time.

Run by Norfolk-based Campbell Cloud Films CIC in association with the Sir John Hurt Film Trust, the masterclass will cover various aspects of the craft of directing, including:

  • Script editing
  • Calling the shots – getting the terminology right
  • How to read a text
  • Blocking scenes and directing actors
  • Getting started in the industry

“The course will be a great introduction for anyone thinking about studying film at degree level, as well as a great way to develop or brush up existing skills,” said Jean Hogg of Campbell Cloud Films.

The masterclass is aimed at those with some prior filmmaking experience, and those who are just starting out.  It takes place on Saturday 22nd February and Sunday 23rd February at the Sir John Hurt Centre in Norwich.

Attendance at the masterclass costs £90, discounted to £75 for bookings made before 19th February.  Tickets are available from www.sirjohnhurtfilmtrust.org.uk/shop.
