CELEBRATION OF CAROLINE BROOKER’S LIFE TO TAKE PLACE AT NORTH WALSHAM
A celebration of the life of North Walsham High School head teacher Caroline Brooker, who died on New Year’s Eve, is to take place on Wednesday 20th January at 7pm in St Nicholas’ Church in the town – and all who knew her are invited to attend.
The celebration event, which will be attended by her family, will include readings and performances by students, former students and staff at the school.
Included in the line-up is a band made up of former NWHS students; ‘Into The Crowd’, a singing trio of current students; and the NWHS staff band, which is reforming to perform a number of songs which Mrs Brooker particularly enjoyed.
Acting head teacher Ian Winter said, “Caroline loved to see live performances, and always encouraged anyone who was prepared to get up and do their thing – often joining in with songs. So we thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate her life, and everything she did both for the school and the wider community of North Walsham.
“Many local people have already left tributes to Caroline online, and we would be delighted to welcome anyone who wanted to come and join us in celebrating what she did for the town and surrounding area.
“We are extremely grateful to Rev Paul Cubitt, vicar at St Nicholas, who has kindly offered the use of the church.”
The celebration event takes place on Wednesday 20th January at 7pm. All are welcome.
