CLASSIC VEHICLES AND AUTOMOBILIA SALE SET TO ATTRACT CROWDS
Classic car and motorbike enthusiasts will be descending on Aylsham on Saturday 18th July, for one of the county’s biggest and most interesting Classic Vehicles and Automobilia auctions.
More than 400 lots, including 27 cars, 16 motorbikes, and a massive selection of automobilia, will be going under the hammer at Keys Fine Art Auctioneers in the town, with the sale starting at 11am.
Highlights of the sale include:
- An Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane Coupe from the immediate post-war years, which has been in long-term private ownership (estimate £2000-£4,000)
- A 1950s Peugeot 203A – the first monocoque car built by Peugeot – imported into the UK in 1980 (estimate £6,000-£8,000)
- A 1972 Lomax Citroen 2CV-based kit car (estimate £4,000-£5,000)
- A 1959 Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite, offered for restoration
- A 1949 BSA B31 motorbike, being sold by the original owner’s son, with an extremely comprehensive document file which even includes the original bill of sale for £162:11:1 (estimate £3,000-£3,500)
In addition to the vehicles, which also include vintage tractors and horse-drawn carts and carriages, there is a huge selection of automobilia up for sale, including vintage car parts, US license plates, vintage road signs and enamel signs and picnic hampers.
“Anyone who has an interest in classic vehicles will want to be at this sale,” said David Gould of Keys, who is organising the sale. “As well as a good selection of really interesting vehicles, the automobilia contains something for everyone, and we are expecting a big crowd of collectors, enthusiasts and the plain curious.”
