People living with sight loss in Norfolk will have an enhanced range of activities provided for them thanks to donations totalling £1535 from the Norwich Newmedica Eye Clinic.

The team at the Broadland Business Park-based clinic took part in the Norwich 10K race to raise money for Vision Norfolk, and their fundraising efforts were boosted by a generous donation from a patient at the clinic.

The funds will be used to boost the programme of cultural, social and sports activities the charity provides for vision impaired people across the county.

“Our programme of activities, ranging from guided walks to theatre and museum visits, sailing to archery, provide a vital service to help reduce social isolation and the apprehension which can follow a new diagnosis,” said Vision Norfolk individual giving manager Rob Collins.

“Our clients rapidly discover that there is a whole world of support out there and that life goes on.  Our activities allow them to have new experiences and make new friends.”

Presenting the donation to Vision Norfolk, Karen Hansed, operations director at Newmedica Norwich, said, “Our staff are very committed to raising money in various ways, and to working with Vision Norfolk to continue to fundraise for such an important service.”
