An online masterclass aimed at helping the region’s charities to improve their financial management is taking place later this month, delivered by one of the region’s leading teams of charity experts.

During the free webinar taking place on Tuesday 16th May, Stef Smith and Rebecca Frost of Lovewell Blake’s specialist Charities team will look at the importance of trustees understanding the finances of their charity.

The team will set out 12 key indicators which make up a strong financial management plan for charities, including budgeting, management accounts, setting reserves policies and financial controls.

“Many charity trustees don’t come from a financial background, and arguably the most important of their responsibilities as a trustee is to oversee the financial management of the organisation,” said Mark Proctor, lead partner for Lovewell Blake’s Charities team.

“It can be a daunting task, but by breaking it down into our suggested 12 manageable parts, any charity trustee – and indeed manager – can ensure that the charity is being well managed financially, and is in a robust financial position.”

The Charities Webinar ‘Importance of good Financial Management’ takes place on Tuesday 16th May from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.  Attendance is free, but places must be reserved in advance.  For more details, and to book a place, visit www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events.
