ICONIC NORWICH RESTAURANT CELEBRATES NATIONAL CHOCOLATE WEEK WITH SPECIAL CHOCOHOLICS AFTERNOON TEA
A historic Norwich restaurant has created a special Chocoholics afternoon tea to celebrate National Chocolate Week, which runs from 14th-20th October.
The Britons Arms is offering the sumptuous afternoon treat, in which all but one of the elements includes chocolate - including venison, juniper and cocoa sandwiches, white chocolate and strawberry scones, and a homemade triple chocolate ‘Chocolate Heaven’ cake.
Chef-proprietor Richard Ellis has created the three-tiered feast, which includes a range of savoury and sweet elements.
“Briton is a nation of chocolate lovers, so Chocolate Week was too good an opportunity to let pass without creating something special for Norwich’s chocoholics,” said Mr Ellis.
The Chocoholics afternoon tea features:
- Sandwiches: venison, juniper and cocoa; peanut butter and Nutella; turkey mole; and Binham Blue cheese, port and dark chocolate
- Homemade sausage roll (this one has no chocolate!)
- White chocolate and strawberry scone, with ham and cream
- Chocolate ganache on lavender shortbread
- Salt caramel and chocolate brownie
- Chocolate strawberries
- Triple chocolate ‘Chocolate Heaven’ cake
The special Chocoholics afternoon tea costs £18 per person, including a hot chocolate with marshmallows, a pot of tea, or coffee. A glass local sparkling wine can be added for £6.
The Chocoholics afternoon tea will be served at The Britons Arms from Saturday 12th October until Sunday 20th October.
