Three prominent farming experts will be providing an overview of financial, tax and property issues facing farmers at the latest Lovewell Blake Farmers’ Evening which takes place on Wednesday 21st March in Halesworth.

Richard Prentice from Durrants and Mark Hawes from Barclays Bank will join host Brian Bale from Lovewell Blake to provide a broad-reaching update on matters of interest to most farmers.

Mr Prentice will be updating those attending on the BPS changes, Stewardship Schemes, changes to the Energy Performance Certificates in respect of let residential and commercial property which come into effect on 1st April, as well as giving a brief analysis of the letting and sales market and an update on planning.

Meanwhile Mr Bale will talk about current farming-related taxation matters and tax planning prior to the new tax year, along with any relevant issues arising from the Chancellor’s Spring Statement on 13th March.

Mr Hawes will update the meeting on current lending and interest matters.

“These Farmers’ Evenings are always a convivial way of catching up with the latest news and views,” said Brian Bale.  “At this time of year there are so many regulatory changes taking place, that we thought it would be useful to provide a general overview of what is happening.”

The Farmers’ Evening is one of a series of such presentations organised by Lovewell Blake’s agriculture team, in conjunction with Suffolk Coastal NFU.   The event takes place at Halesworth Golf Club on Wednesday 21st March at 7.30pm, and will include a buffet.  Attendance is free; to book a place, call Brian Bale on 01986 873163 or email b.bale@lovewell-blake.co.uk.
