LEADING REGIONAL CHARITY FINANCE EXPERT TO PRESENT AT SPECIAL WEBINAR AIMED AT COUNTY’S CHARITIES
With many charities having experienced significant financial challenges due to the Covid pandemic, a leading philanthropic organisation is hosting a special webinar featuring one of the county’s top charity finance experts, to help charities understand the importance of sound budgeting, as well as receive tips on ensuring financial compliance in a challenging environment.
Norfolk Community Foundation, a local charity dedicated to building stronger communities and linking donors with causes they care about, has teamed up with Stef Smith, charities manager at leading regional chartered accountants Lovewell Blake, to offer the free hour-long webinar next month.
The event will cover a range of topics including the importance of setting budgets and the link they have with a charity’s strategic plans, ensuring that accounts are fit for purpose and compliant, and how to put in place good risk assessments.
“With the Covid-19 pandemic having a significant impact on the finances of charities, many organisations and trustees have been asking for clarity and support around accounting, and making sure that they are managing their finances effectively and appropriately,” said Foundation chief executive Claire Cullens.
“We are delighted to have one of the region’s top charity finance experts presenting at our webinar, and this is an opportunity for charities in the county to share in the expertise and experience of someone who has been supporting charities for nearly two decades.”
Stef Smith specialises in charities and not-for-profit organisations at Lovewell Blake, and as well as her Chartered Accountant status, she is a holder of the Diploma in Charity Accounting.
The Norfolk Community Foundation Webinar on Accounting for Charities, in association with Lovewell Blake, takes place on Tuesday 15th June from 3pm-4pm. Attendance is free, but places must be reserved in advance. To book, email tessaclarke@norfolkfoundation.com.
