LOVEWELL BLAKE EXPANDS NETWORK WITH ACQUISITION OF CAMBRIDGESHIRE ACCOUNTANCY FIRM
East Anglian-based accountancy firm Lovewell Blake has signalled further expansion with the acquisition of a longstanding firm in Ely, Youngman & Co. The move, the firm’s first into Cambridgeshire, will add a tenth office to its network.
Lovewell Blake partner Brian Floringer will head up the Ely office; Mr Floringer is also responsible for the firm’s Bury St Edmunds office.
Youngman & Co staff will transfer to Lovewell Blake, and will continue to work from the same Ely offices, under the Lovewell Blake banner. Youngman & Co founder, John Youngman is set to retire.
“Youngman & Co is an extremely well-established practice in Ely, which has a solid reputation for serving both small businesses and private clients,” said Mr Floringer. “The fit is extremely good, and this move will see our geographical area of operation expand westwards into Cambridgeshire. We have increasingly been serving clients in the county, so adding an Ely office is a logical step.
“We are delighted to welcome the Youngman & Co team to Lovewell Blake, which means that existing clients will see continuity in the service they receive. This will now be backed by access to a wider range of services and expertise which Lovewell Blake can offer.
“Our reputation as a firm is spreading across East Anglia, and we continue to grow our network of offices, which allows clients to be serviced by a truly local team – but with the back-up that a leading regional firm can provide.”
Paul Williams from Youngman & Co, who together with the rest of the team will join Lovewell Blake on 1 February, added, “We are delighted to become part of Lovewell Blake, a firm which shares much of the ethos of the team here in Ely.
“This move brings one of the most respected names in accountancy into Ely, whilst retaining the people and the service which our clients value.”
