NATURAL CAPITAL IS FOCUS OF LATEST FARMERS’ EVENING
Natural capital from a farmer’s perspective is the focus of the second joint NFU/Lovewell Blake Farmers’ Evening of 2023, which takes place later this month.
Oliver Rubinstein and Richard Anscombe from Trinity Agtech will be the speakers at the free event, which takes place at Halesworth Golf Club on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30pm.
The pair will focus on the practical steps that farmers need to take to ensure they are able to engage with the whole natural capital issue, and make informed decisions. This will include how farmers can measure their carbon footprint and natural capital, key considerations and common pitfalls in doing so, and how to make use of the results.
Richard Anscombe is partnership development lead at Trinity Agtech, responsible for working with the firm’s many partner organisations to help their members and clients benefit from its services. He was previously CEO of Fram Farmers as well as previously running his own consultancy business in the agriculture and IT sectors.
Oliver Rubinstein a customer success manager at Trinity, tasked with helping users get maximum benefit from the software. He was previously the NFU County Adviser for Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire and has also worked for ADAS and the Organic Research Centre.
Trinity Agtech’s Sandy software has been developed to help farmers accurately measure their natural capital and successfully navigate the sustainability challenges facing their business, including measuring carbon footprint, biodiversity score and nitrate leaching, as well as modelling future management scenarios.
Lovewell Blake agricultural partner Ryan Lincoln, who will be chairing the event, said, “With the advent of ELMS, natural capital is a phrase which is on every farmer’s lips, but there is a wide variation in understanding of what it actually means, and especially how to measure it – essential for rural businesses to take the fullest advantage of the new funding regime.
“We are delighted to have two of the region’s foremost experts on the subject at our next Farmers’ Evening, and I’m sure it will be a relevant, interesting and engaging event.”
The event takes place at Halesworth Golf club on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30pm, and the presentation will be followed by a buffet supper. Attendance is free, but places need to be booked in advance, by visiting https://www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events.
