Norfolk’s sight loss charity Vision Norfolk has appointed a new co-ordinator for its children, young people and families (CYPF) service, which supports young people living with sight loss and their families.

Josh Bartholomew will be the first full-time co-ordinator, signalling a move by the charity to extend the reach of its CYPF services to more young people and their families right across the county.

With a degree in education from the University of East Anglia, Norfolk-born Mr Bartholomew has worked as a specialist teaching assistant in both mainstream and special needs schools in the county.

Welcoming him to the charity, services manager Barbara Dunn, who until taking up her new role was herself the CYPF co-ordinator, said, “We are delighted to welcome Josh to the charity, bringing as he does specialist educational knowledge and experience.

“The support we provide for vision impaired young people and their families is a vital part of Vision Norfolk’s offer, and having a full-time co-ordinator for the first time will enable us to reach out to more children and young people living with sight loss.”
