NEW CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR ANNOUNCED FOR VICTORY HOUSING TRUST
Victory Housing Trust has announced the appointment of a new Chairman and Vice-Chair.
Philip Burton takes over as Chairman from Clare Barter, who is retiring from the Victory Board in the spring after nine years. Born in north Norfolk, and educated at Paston College, Mr Burton has spent his professional career in local government, spanning housing, community services and corporate management, including as chief executive of two district councils.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, he is Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Benjamin Foundation. In addition, he chairs the Paston Community Project, a village initiative designed to transform the parish church into a community, educational and events space alongside continuing as a place of worship.
Doris Jamieson has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the Victory Board. A chartered accountant, she has a particular interest in governance and applying her business experience to support charities, having served on a number of charities boards and school governing bodies around the UK. She is an independent Chair of the Membership & Standards Committee for Citizens Advice and advisor to a number of local charities.
The Victory Housing Trust Board is made up of up to ten members: seven independent members and three Victory Housing Trust residents.
