NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR VICTORY HOUSING TRUST

North Walsham-based housing association Victory Housing Trust has appointed tenant Mike Gates as a non-executive director.

A retired postal worker, Mr Gates lives in Wells-next-the-Sea, and has been active in the local community for many years.  He has been a Town Councillor in Wells for 30 years, is a board member of The Maltings Trust, and is treasurer of Wells Action for Fair Trade.

He has a particular interest in housing, and has been an Involved Resident with Victory Housing Trust for some considerable time.

Welcoming him to the Victory Board, chairman Philip Burton said, “I am delighted to welcome Mike to the Board as a tenant non-executive director.  It is vital that our residents’ voices are represented when key decisions are being taken, and Mike will make a valuable contribution to our ongoing success.

“Our Board plays a vital role in steering the strategy and good governance of the Trust, and features a strong balance of relevant expertise and representation from Victory residents themselves.”
