NEW VOLUNTEERS AND ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR APPOINTED AT SIGHT LOSS CHARITY’S KING’S LYNN HUB
A new member of staff at the King’s Lynn hub of Norfolk’s sight loss charity has been appointed with the aim of expanding the organisation’s band of volunteers, and co-ordinating a wide-ranging and varied activities programme taking place in and around the town.
Abbi Waters has Joined Vision Norfolk, based at the charity’s hub on Hamburg Way in the town. Originally from King’s Lynn, Abbi has a degree and post-graduate diploma in Psychology, and has a long experience of volunteering herself, including for the Girl Guide movement and for mental health charity Mencap.
Alongside her volunteer and activities role, she will be helping the team at the King’s Lynn hub reach out to more vision impaired people in the east of the county.
King’s Lynn hub co-ordinator Penny Whitby said, “We are delighted that Abbi has joined our small team at the hub. Volunteers play a central part in delivering the wide range of services we offer to vision impaired people in the county, and having a dedicated volunteers co-ordinator will help us recruit more people, and to ensure that their work is as rewarding for the volunteers themselves as it is vital to the charity.”
