NORFOLK BAND WARMS UP FOR WINDSOR ENGAGEMENT WITH CHARITY SUMMER CONCERT AT DITCHINGHAM HALL
A Norfolk brass band will be warming up for a prestigious engagement at Windsor Castle with an outdoor summer concert at Ditchingham Hall near Bungay in aid of the Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind.
Taverham Band is to undertake a summer tour later this month during which they will perform at the Musical Museum at Kew in London as well as at Windsor Castle. The band performed at Sandringham for the Queen’s Jubilee garden party, and two years ago was invited to take part in the famous Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium.
On Saturday 16th June the band will be performing a summer concert featuring a wide variety of music ranging from movie themes to Last Night of the Proms. The outdoor promenade concert will take place at Ditchingham Hall, with audience members encouraged to bring picnics to enjoy with the music.
Donna Minto, events officer at the NNAB, said, “This will be the second time that the fabulous Taverham Band has played for us, and it promises to be a really good night.
“Audience members will have the chance to explore Ditchingham Hall’s extensive gardens before the concert, and we hope that people will get into the party spirit by bringing picnics and enjoying a real summer evening’s entertainment.
“We are extremely grateful to the Ditchingham estate for allowing us to hold this event at the Hall.”
