North Walsham High School Students Prepare To Share The Stage With Strictly Winner Pasha
Two North Walsham High School students are set to share the stage with Pasha Kovalev, when the Strictly Come Dancing stars roll into Cromer for a show later this week.
13 year-olds Leah Harris and Toni Cook will be part of the supporting group of dancers for the show, at the Pavilion Theatre on Cromer Pier on Sunday 15th March.
This will be the third year that the members of the True Motion Dance troupe will be supporting Pasha – who has hinted that Strictly winner and Norfolk girl Caroline Flack may be there as well.
Year 9 student Leah said, “We only get to rehearse with Pasha on the day, so it’s quite a challenge, as is the small stage on Cromer Pier. The first time we danced with him it was very daunting, but he is really friendly and really encouraging, and he gave us lots of tips. We are really looking forward to performing with him again.”
Both Leah and Toni are hoping to be professional dancers when they leave school.
Pasha Kovalev’s show ‘Life Through Dance’ promises to transport the audience into the world of Ballroom and Latin Dance with all its glitter and sequins. The show is sold out, and the theatre is operating a waiting list for returns.
Russian professional dancer Pasha started dancing at the age of eight, before moving to the US in 2001. He subsequently moved to the UK in 2011 when he became one of the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing.
In his four series he has come second twice (in 2011 with Chelsee Healey and in 2012 with Kimberley Walsh), before winning the Glitterball trophy in 2014 with Caroline Flack.
