NORTH WALSHAM TEENAGER REACHES BEAUTY CONTEST FINAL
A North Walsham teenager is set for a glamorous two days in Blackpool, having successfully made it through to the Grand Final of a national teen beauty competition.
14 year-old Summer Waugh, a year 9 student at North Walsham High School, was chosen as a finalist in the Miss Junior Teen GB competition, after winning enough votes in a Facebook poll.
Now she is to take part in the two day Grand Final at The Globe at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in October, where she will take part in a host of activities including photo shoots, a ‘beauty queen challenge day’ and a pyjama diva party.
The winner of the national Miss Junior Teen GB title will be announced on 25th October, with the winner carrying off a whole host of prizes including dresses, jewelry, holidays and a professional photo shoot, as well as £500 cash.
Summer is hoping to following the footsteps of fellow North Walsham girl Gabbi Ryan, who came third in last year’s Miss Teen GB contest (for 16-19 year-olds).
“I’m over the moon to have reached the Grand Final, and so excited to be taking part in such a glamorous event,” said Summer, who has an ambition to be a dancer or a gymnast.
“I’d like to thank everybody who voted for me on Facebook to help me reach this stage, and I will be proudly representing Norfolk on the Grand Final stage, hoping to bring back the title of Miss Junior Teen GB.”
Organisers of the Miss Junior Teen GB contest, which is open to girls aged 13-15, say it was created to be a positive and confidence-building experience for teenagers, combining glamour and a celebration of their success and achievements.
The Grand Finals of Miss Junior Teen GB take place on 24th and 25th October at The Globe at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
