NORWICH GIN CARRIES OFF INTERNATIONAL AWARD
A gin distilled in Norwich, and made with hand-foraged Norfolk ingredients, has won a prestigious medal at the 2021 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Bullards Coastal Gin, which includes aromatics such as sea aster, marsh samphire and sea purslane, has carried off a Silver Medal in the competition, widely regarded as one of the most rigorous awards scheme for wines and spirits in the world.
The gin was chosen following a double-blind judging process undertaken by a panel of international spirits experts, who commented of the drink: “Herb, citrus and fruit are beautifully integrated alongside the soft juniper notes; really well-structured with a lovely botanical layering”.
Russell Evans, founder and managing director of Bullards Spirits, said, “We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award just a few months after launching our Coastal Gin.
“This is a gin which really expresses our county, with botanicals hand-foraged on the Norfolk coast. So this award is for our county as well as for Bullards, and we are very proud to have been recognised in such a prestigious competition.”
