NORWICH RESTAURANT RECEIVES NATIONAL ACCOLADE IN OBSERVER FOOD MONTHLY AWARDS
A Norwich restaurant has been named as one of the UK’s top 28 eating establishments by readers of the Observer Food Monthly.
Roger Hickman’s Restaurant, in Upper St Giles, was named as one of the runners-up in the ‘Best Restaurant’ category in the 2019 OFM Awards, one of the UK’s most prestigious food awards.
Hickman’s, which celebrates its 10th birthday in February next year, was one of only three restaurants in the eastern region to receive the accolade. The others were Benedicts, also in Norwich, and the Swan at Ingham.
“It’s great news for Norfolk that all three Eastern Region winners are in the county,” said Roger Hickman. “It shows that Norfolk is gaining a national reputation for the quality of our food and drink, and of our restaurants.
“It is particularly pleasing that this award is voted for by readers of Observer Food Monthly, which is acknowledged as one of the top foodie publications ion the country. I would like to thank everyone who voted for us, and helped Norfolk make such a splash in these prestigious national awards.”
Overall winner of the Best Restaurant category was Covent Garden establishment Oystermen Seafood Bar and Kitchen.
