SMASH-HIT LAUNCH SEES THREE-QUARTERS OF AVAILABLE NEW HOMES SOLD DURING INITIAL WEEKEND
Three-quarters of the new homes released at the newest site from Norfolk house builder Abel Homes were snapped up during the launch event last weekend.
Nine of the 12 new homes released for sale at Taursham park in Taverham, where Abel Homes will eventually build 93 new family homes, were reserved during the launch weekend, despite the event being by appointment only to ensure compliance with coronavirus safety guidelines.
Local couple Aaron Pitkethly and Rosalee Marshall were the first to sign on the dotted line ten minutes before the sales office doors officially opened, reserving a two-bedroom semi-detached house on the site, at the junction of Beech Avenue and Ringland Road in the village.
Over 900 people registered an interest in new homes on the site prior to the launch.
All of the new homes are being built to a very high specification of energy-efficiency, with solar photovoltaic panels, triple glazing and underfloor heating to the ground floor. Each new home will boast an EPC rating of ‘A’ – the most energy-efficient band.
The new homes will also come with fitted ‘A’ rate appliances, garages with electric doors, BT fibre broadband to the premises, and floor coverings included throughout. The site will also include three public open green spaces, and a wooded area with woodland walk.
“We knew that there was considerable interest in this site, and we were very busy throughout the launch weekend,” said Abel Homes sales manager Clare Cornish. “To sell three-quarters of the homes on offer during the first weekend shows that there is still plenty of demand for new homes, provided they are good quality, energy-efficient homes in the right location.”
Prices for the initial release of 12 homes ranged from £235,000 for a two-bed semi-detached house to £495,000 for a detached four-bed house.
