A pair of still life studies of peaches and redcurrants on a Willow pattern plates is amongst five pictures by a pioneering 19th century female artist to be featured in Keys Fine Art Auctioneers’ East Anglia Art Sale on Friday 28th March, part of its three day spring Fine Sale.

The two still lifes by Eloise Harriet Stannard (1829-1915) were painted in 1899.  They are oil on canvas, and measure 21.5 x 30cm each.  They have a pre-sale estimate of £3,000-£4,000.

Two further still life oils by Stannard are in the sale, alongside a rarer unsigned watercolour still life of pansies and plums in a basket.

Eloise Harriet Stannard was born in Norwich, the daughter of artist Alfred Stannard and niece of fellow Norwich School member Joseph Stannard.  She was one of only two female artists in the Norwich School, the other being her aunt Emily Coppin Stannard.
