THETFORD BUSINESSES TEST THEIR GENERAL KNOWLEDGE IN FUNDRAISING QUIZ NIGHT
Teams including businesses in the Thetford area put their general knowledge to the test while raising several hundred pounds for a local community fund when they took place in a quiz night.
The Lovewell Blake Thetford Fundraising Quiz saw nearly 50 eager competitors pitting their knowledge against each other at the Thomas Paine Hotel.
Teams from Rudlings Solicitors, Barclays Bank, Centre Stage Engineering, Simon Long Removals and Lovewell Blake were joined by a number of other quiz teams. The eventual winner was one of those guests teams, calling themselves The Quizee Rascals.
Jamie Norton from Lovewell Blake’s Thetford office, who along with colleagues Colin Chamberlain and Dawn Wright organised the quiz, said, “After a very long gap due to the pandemic, we are delighted to be able to start putting on fun events such as this to bring people from the local business community together, and it was great to see such a good turnout.
“We are very grateful to Gez Chetal at the Thomas Paine Hotel for hosting the quiz, and for enabling us to raise money for the Lovewell Blake Community Fund, which gives grants to grassroots charities and voluntary organisations across the region.”
Since it was set up in 2008, the Fund has distributed grants totalling over £320,000 to organisations across Norfolk, north Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire. Local recipients in the last grants round included Thetford Town Football Club, which was given £1,209 to refurbish the showers in the away team and referee facilities at the club, and purchase a new boiler.
