TOP NORFOLK CHEF TO RETURN TO KITCHEN FOR FIRST TIME SINCE LOCKDOWN WITH FATHER’S DAY COLLECTION MENU
One of Norfolk’s top chefs is returning to the kitchen for the first time since lockdown began – and offering a special five-course collection menu for Father’s Day.
Roger Hickman, chef-proprietor of Roger Hickman’s Restaurant in Norwich, has designed the taster menu to be served at home with minimal effort, and it will come with simple re-heating instructions.
The menu features an array of Norfolk produce, including asparagus, crab, samphire, quails eggs and Norfolk beef. The meals will be prepared for collection on Saturday 20th June (Father’s Day is Sunday 21st June)
The menu is as follows:
- Asparagus salad with cep puree
- Crab with quails eggs, samphire, avocado and cucumber
- Short rib of beef with shallots and pomme puree
- Cheese plate
- Lemon tart with raspberry sorbet
The five course menu costs £50 per head, with a free bottle of Prosecco for orders of four or more people.
“It has been very frustrating not being able to cook for people, but even offering takeaway meals during lockdown was not really feasible,” said Roger Hickman. “However, with restrictions being lifted gradually, we wanted to offer something to our many loyal customers who have been urging us to start cooking again.
“I have designed the menu so that it is very simple to re-heat and serve at home, and I hope that many dads will be able to enjoy their special day with a gastronomic treat.”
The special Father’s Day Collection Menu can be ordered via the restaurant’s website at www.rogerhickmansrestaurant.com/fathers-day. Staff will then phone back to take a card payment, and customers will be given a slot for contactless collection at the restaurant on Upper St Giles’ Street on the afternoon of Saturday 20th June.
