TWO NEW DIRECTORS FOR NORFOLK’S SIGHT LOSS CHARITY
Two new directors have been appointed at the Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind, as the charity restructures its leadership team to face the challenges of reaching out to more visually-impaired people across the county.
Clive Evans has become director of business development, responsible for fundraising, brand and marketing, digital experience, client experience, advocacy and health promotion. Mr Evans has wide experience in the charitable sector, including as operations director for the British Red Cross and director of income generation and communications for Big C.
Jelena Sarubina has been appointed as director of corporate services, responsible for the finance, HR, legal, IT, maintenance and estates, as well as the charity’s vital volunteers. Originally from Estonia, Ms Sarubina started her career in finance in the hospitality industry, but most recently spent seven years as service manager for Mencap in Norfolk.
NNAB chief executive Gina Dormer commented, “I am delighted to announce the strengthening of our management team, as we embark on a campaign to engage with many more of the visually-impaired people in Norfolk who would benefit from our support.
“Charities are rightly expected to act in a much more professional way today, and so a robust management team is vital to ensure that we are being as effective as we can, and using the money raised through our fundraising efforts to best effect.”
