A Watton business park has received a £200,000 facelift, as its owners release the last remaining units onto the market.

Neaton Business Park was created out of the former Abels Removals depot on Norwich Road in the town in 2010, with over 100,000 sq ft of warehousing and office space made available on the site.

Now the park’s owner, Abel Properties Ltd is making the further investment in new electric insulated sectional doors, insulated cladding and many other cosmetic  improvements.

Just one 3,000 sq ft office suite remains available on the park, and just one 2,000 sq ft standard bay warehousing unit.  In addition, the company has now released the 35,000 sq ft high-bay warehousing unit, which could potentially be split into smaller units.

Companies such as Wincanton, Sirco and Hadley & Ottaway are already based at Neaton, as well as the Abel Group of companies including Abel Homes and Abel Energy.

“We launched the Business Park in 2010, right at the depth of the recession,” said Tony Abel, managing director of Abel Properties.  “To have let around 60 per cent of such a big business park during the years of the downturn has been a good achievement.

“As the economy continues to recover, we are now investing more in the aesthetics of the site, with the aim of improving the working environment for our existing tenants, and attracting new tenants to fill the remaining units.

“Having a large & secure, modern business park in Watton is good for local employment, and demonstrates our long-term commitment to the town.”

The refurbishment work was being carried out by Wymondham-based contractor ACE Contract Maintenance.
