WAVENEY ACCOUNTANTS BOWLED OVER BY SUCCESS OF FUNDRAISER
More than £3,000 was raised for local good causes when local business people got together for a popular annual charity tenpin bowling event in Lowestoft.
Organised by staff at Lovewell Blake, the event saw 78 people from 13 local businesses compete at the Richardsons Family Entertainment Centre in the town. A team from Kerslake Construction carried off the trophy.
With generous match-funding from Barclays and from the partners at Lovewell Blake, a total of £2,900 was raised by the evening – money which will be distributed to local community organisation in the form of grants from Lovewell Blake’s Community Fund.
A further £215 was raised via an auction for East Anglian Air Ambulance in memory of Will Kerslake, who always supported the annual event.
“Once again we were delighted to see such strong support for the event,” said Mel Davey-Duruk from Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office, who helped organise the evening. “As well as raising so much for local good causes, the annual tenpin bowling event is a great fun way to get together with the local business community, and has very much become a fixture in our fundraising calendar.”
The Lovewell Blake Community Fund was set up in 2008 to mark the firm’s 150th anniversary, with the aim of raising £150,000 for local charities and community groups. To date the fund has given out grants worth over £340,000.
